Do you think I was too harsh?
Do you think I was too harsh with him?

It looks like a pretty good website.
I would see if you could find a way to spruce up the header (logo and graphics) a bit more– it is quite large, but doesn’t really capture the eye.
Other than that, I think it has good content, a good FAQ, I like the help to choose your own product and compare the product packages, and the samples are good to give away. I really like the video pop-up at the beginning too–that does catch the eye.
Could they take those samples you have provided and just rip them off and use them without buying the product?
If this were my main website, and I was driving a lot of traffic to it–I would want to have a free report available to give them something free in exchange for an e-mail opt-in–kinda like this website. It’s called a squeeze page–http://www.onlinecashflowguru.com–and it’s pretty easy to create.
You have an opt-in from Aweber to capture the e-mail–that way you can be building a list and developing a relationship with that list by giving them away something for free. Otherwise, unless you have a very targeted customer ready to buy, you’ll probably have a pretty high bounce rate.
You can put this opt-in form on the side toolbar of your website so they can see it on every web page. Then you could do a PPC campaign and drive traffic to your squeeze page to get an opt-in.
The most effective and successful product offers online have this kind of sales copy:
http://www.triadformula.com/access.html –(sample sales letter from a multi-million dollar online stock trading tips)
http://www.isecureonline.com/Reports/HOT/WHOTH102/ (sample sales letter from a $300 billion information publishing company called Agora)
https://ssl.strategicprofitsystem.com/gps/ (sample sales letter from Rich Schefren’s $3M sold out coaching program)
The most profitable online marketers are using these tools now–squeeze page, sales page, aweber opt-ins – and that is how I’m setting my website up too. You are able to engage the customer with a free hook, and then drip-feed them some free content, and lead them up to the sales page to buy. There are a lot of psychological triggers that you can use in the sales process online to take the one-one selling process to the masses online—like scarcity, social proof, authority, event based, reciprocity, anchoring, etc… These are all things you can incorporate into your offer and your launch to “hit a grand slam” with online marketing.
How are you launching the website?
Do you have a list to launch the website to?
I am engineering a product launch right now, and I’ve got a pretty cool internet product launch sequence that you might be interested in.
I would re-work your offer– add proof/testimonials, give them stuff away for free, show them that they are getting an amazing deal–play on the fact that it usually costs $15,000, but you are giving them a steal of a deal at $____, and for the first 50 people who sign up, they also get a free bonus package of ______—-I think you will be most effective and successful if you approach it like direct marketing online using some of these techniques.
There’s a lot more you can do, especially with the launch process on a new product, but those are a few ideas….
If you have a big enough list, I think you can really knock it out of the park with the right marketing on this one.
