What is your "Why"?

What is your “Why”?

This video is the reason I do everything I do.

It’s a little personal….but I thought I should share it with you anyways, because I feel like we all have to find out our own reason “why” we are doing what we are doing.

“If your why is strong enough, you’ll figure out how.”
- Bill Walsh,  Venture Capitalist/Business Coach

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking, brainstorming and business planning lately – to create my next set of goals and steps to keep growing my business. And more importantly, planning the time and activities that I’ll be doing with my family this next coming year. (And the next few targets on my “bucket list”) :-)

This past weekend I was at the Rainmaker Summit with Bill Walsh – it was an incredible event with 70 other high-level businesses and high-level entrepreneurs doing a lot of business planning and business building. The people I met and the connections I made there were truly life changing – definitely a turning point in my business and my life.

I highly recommend you check out Bill Walsh and the Powerteam International website, and register for their FREE Success 20/20 Business Breakthrough Workshop!

My question for you is….

1. What is your “Why?”

2. Where do you see yourself in the next 12 months?

3. How can I help you to get there?

Please leave a comment below with your answer and a way that I can help you!

Nice job, beautiful family, reminds me of when my kids were babies! Now, my “why” is because I’m a divorced empty nester with an over-zealous ex-husband who really gave me a swift kick in the behind recently so I had to finally get busy! Turned out to be one of those blessings in disguise…..
And kudos for choosing a country song!

Nice video, Adam.

I love business and start-up entrepreneurship. That’s my “why.”

Judi October 1, 2009 at 11:01 pm

Adam,

You have a beautiful family and you have the house of my dreams…a log cabin on a big piece of property.

My “why” came about in May when I was laid off from my job in May and the realization I don’t want to work for someone else. I want my time to be my own and to have the money to travel with my significant other. I also want to be able to help others achieve their dreams of working from home with their own business. I want to be able to give back to others.

Hi! :)
First of all, your ‘Why?” is strong, very strong!
Your family is very cute and adorable. You seem happy, and i believe that’s the best Why? you could have. Excellent!

In respect to my Why?! Well, I’m not married yet, nor have kids. Also, I’m still finishing my master degree thesis (hope to finish it during the next year.) At the same time, I’m already working (still a junior) but working hard to grow up professionally speaking.

So, my “why” boils down to “pursuit of hapiness”.
Kind Regards!

Hey Adam,

What an amazing video, thank you. The true reward of life is the feeling of love, this is all I could see in your video which is truly beautiful.

This is exactly what I have been doing myself for the past week. Taking a step back and looking at yourself is insanely powerful.

My why is…

My family and especially my mum,
I have always wanted to succeed to give back to my mum. When we
where growing up she gave us everthing and never treated herself. I always felt so guilty and want to treat her like the princess she is.

Thanks for the great video Adam it was aw inspiring. It is amazing working with you .looking forward to what lies ahead.

Regards,

Karn

Hey Adam,

Ok now I have to admit I did not read the very bottom of the post I missed two questions :) very sorry.

In twelve months time I can see myself online full time travelling the world with my family experiencing all its beauty and stopping over to personally shake your hand and to say thank you along side Dean Holland.

Also really keen to get a hosting package upgrade for next month. Web 2.0 is exiting times.

Have a great day,

Karn

Adam,

Can I just say it has been a LONG time since I have felt a connection like this from reading someones blog post.

That is some POWERFUL stuff !

Thankyou for sharing it, now for your questions …

My Why …

I have always felt deep down I would have success in my life, thing is I have never really known how it was going to happen. Then I discovered the internet and it all became clear how I would do it !

My family has always been there for me and supported me and soon I will be taking care of them and letting the Holland family live the lives they want to live. It pains me to see my mum and dad working their asses off for a company, that I want to stop.

I also want nice things in my life, with money and success comes nice things.

That my friend is my Why …

In 12 months time, well now this is a little harder. You see certain things are beginning to take shape in my life so it is tricky to predict however I will say this, I will be VERY disappointed to not have a 6 figure year in 2010…

Thats not just some big bold claim, I feel I have finally figured something out online and now it is a case of just working hard to make things happen. And I WILL !

How can you help me ?? …

Adam you already have, the connection we have working together in many areas is priceless. I feel we are very likeminded, in fact the questions is not what can you do for me…

The question is, what can we do for each other …

To the future my friend !!

Success here we come !!!!!!

Dean

Hey Adam,

Couldn’t help but get emotional with your video.

I love when people open up like that online. Specially on our industry.

I for one can be a little too open and some times might get the odd ‘virtual’ looks for being so.

To be honest. I am who I am and lots of mums and dads have been resonating with my story and very appreciative of my ‘this is my family and my family is my business style’.

So I first-of-all am very grateful to you for being very open in sharing your beautiful life with us.

As to what is my why? I have three gorgeous, brilliant and bubbly whys and they are called Julia, Marcus and Felipe. As you know they are my 3 babies. My sole reason for existing, they are my everything. All that I do is for them and because of them.

In 12 months time from now I will be earning my living online no doubt, with a great system on auto-pilot . I will also be consulting off line as per my original plan in helping both off line and online small businesses achieve their success online. In order to achieve both I will have a great team backing me up and I truly hope you know that you are a massive part of this team already.

How you can help me? You are already! So all I can say is keep doing what you are doing because it’s working for me, for sure. It’s a great pleasure to work with you and to tap into your online expertise . I am very grateful to you for that.

Your family is gorgeous and I told you that already when I saw you in Vegas. You are more than right to be so proud of each and everyone of them.

Lot’s of motherly love to you my friend. I will be getting in touch very soon with updates from my side ok?

Hey Adam,

Great why…

My why is three-fold; my family, my friends and my ministry.

Thanks for reminding me

Hi Adam

Well it’s nearly 12 months since we started Alex’s course, and I thought I’d just give you a look in to see how your doing.
For me it’s been like driving at 100mph constantly, I’ve been developing various niche sites.
Why?
I enjoy the freedom this business gives me, and also the interaction with like minded people, who want what’s best for their family, friends and loved ones.

What have you been up to? come and visit me and let me know how things are.
Cheers
Al

Kim October 15, 2009 at 8:11 pm

Hi Adam,

Fantastic WHY! Great post & great question.
My ‘Why’ is similar to yours….my family. Plain and simple.
After losing my husband in a car accident six years ago, I knew working outside of the house for 50 hours a week was NOT what I wanted for my kids…
After a few attempts at ‘other’ things (real estate..good times, we know where that went – and Insurance….yawn…no offense to any agents out there)- I knew that this was the way to go.

I’m totally grateful that I met you- you’re a great guy with tons of integrity.
Here’s to much success!
Kim

Hi Adam
I came to your site via twitter and well, should say this video and post of yours reminds me of the documentary ‘The Secret’… Your ‘Why’ is really very powerful :) I should congratulate you for having found such a strong reason. I had one till sometime back and it was powerful itself :)
All of a sudden, just like that, it went away one day…
It really feels nice to know there’s someone out there ready to help whoever you are for no reason at all :)
Wish you the best in life :)

Keriann November 22, 2009 at 4:57 pm

Hi Adam,

Great video you have such an adorable family. You ask a VERY profound question “What is our why”

It’s only when we find that reason that drives us to do the things we do, that we can truly be successful and happy in our lives. It’s only when you determine what drives us through our greatest challenges that we can overcome anything that comes our way; it’s only when we realize the ultimate outcome which we will like to acquire from our actions, that we truly enjoy our journey through life.

Thank you for helping us reflect and for reminding us to sit and really consider why we get up every morning, and why we go through the things we do. It’s only then that we can live a truly fulfilling life.

Iain Buchanan December 14, 2009 at 12:01 pm

Hey Adam,

Very powerful!!! This reminded me of my “Why” – and of a video I made back in the summer about my Why (can be viewed here: http://www.iainbuchanan.me/general-ramblings/let-me-show-you-in-video-why-i-want-to-be-an-internet-marketer.html ).

I have always been a firm believer in working to live, and not the other way around. Unfortunately, as my day-job career has progressed, work has at times taken over. Although this isn’t ideal, I’ve had to go with it for a while.

That’s where Internet Marketing – my “Plan B” came in… Now it’s my “Plan A” though – and the day-job is on it’s final run.

I made the decision a short while ago that within just over 3 months, I’ll be IMing full time – to give me more time to spend with my partner, to spend with a great and close-knit circle of friends, and to spend with my fantastic family.

I want more time to enjoy life – to climb mountains again, and to travel and experience new places around the world.

In short – to enjoy life and to experience as much as I can with those I canre about. Afterall, life’s too short to spend it working stupid hours couped up in a factory.

Thanks again for your powerful video and post. It’s been useful for me, and I’m sure many others too!

Iain.

Hi Adam,

My name is julie and I’m a student of Mark Terrell’s coaching newbies course.

He asked us to drop on over and leave a comment and I had to pick this post!

Great looking family you have, keep them close now Adam…..before you know it they will be teenagers and wont want to know you! They gravitate back after the teenage stage thankfully.

Check out my blog post titled ¨Are you a bystander in your life?¨ and you’ll know one of the main reasons for my ¨Why?¨

Take care,

Julie Priddle.

Interesting video…I don’t think I’ve ever seen a successful marketer focus on his family in his videos…my “why” would just to be able to improve my financial condition as working hard in the typical sense does not achieve much today nor is it valued…there is something called Maslow’s hierarchy of needs and I think when you are at the bottom, you are only thinking of getting to the next level. So, my first goal would be to get to a higher level to have higher goals. If you would like to visit my blog and leave a comment, I would appreciate it.
